Fritz Höffeler, born in 1964, is a certified biologist. Additionally he studied educational science focusing mainly on didactics of biology. After working several years as biologist in research and development he started to look for a possibility to combine science and didactics with his graphical skills. In 1999 he formed an idea, a concept and a name for it: ART FOR SCIENCE.

Being a member of the European Association of medical and scientific Artists he was affiliated in the Encyclopaedia of contemporary Illustrators by 2009. And he is a “firm freelancer” for Spektrum der Wissenschaft (the German edition of Scientific American) as illustrator in the field of Life Science for many years.
